My name is Taylor. I am 28 years old and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my partner in crime (aka my cat), Cooper. Prior to moving up here, I lived in Charleston, SC for 6 years – which was long enough, but I occasionally miss the food there. One of my favorite things to do is cook and experiment in the kitchen; I work on the weekdays and on the weekends my kitchen is overflowing with food and ideas.
I obsessively talk about Mexican food on this blog, and I’m sure it may get on people’s nerves, but I can’t help it; it’s my absolutely favorite. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but I do love to bake, and cocktails are this girl’s best friend. I dislike maple syrup, most dishes with sour cream, and imitation crab – so, most likely, you won’t see a lot of those flavors around here (except when I talked about getting over food aversions here).
I began this blog to document some of my favorite recipes as a way to fill my time being by myself in a brand new city. If you have any questions, please send me a message via my contact page or email me at taylormcbride00{@}gmail{dot}com.
Let’s face it; it’s hard to come up with a 100% original recipe these days. Most everything is usually adapted from another source, and that’s okay. I try and cite all of my sources, but if you see something that I may not have properly sourced PLEASE let me know so I can take a look at it and adjust accordingly.
That being said, if you want to adapt one of my recipes or use one of my images on your site, that’s absolutely fine, but please please please link back to me to give me credit; that’s all I ask! If you ever have any questions, or wondering whether something is okay to use from my site, just contact me. I promise I don’t bite!
Please note: I will occasionally use Amazon and Shopstyle affiliate links to link to my favorite movies, books, and cooking supplies. I may make a small commission off of any Amazon/Shopstyle link if you decide to purchase something. I would never link to something that I didn’t 100 percent love and use and have in my own home.
My website header image (the pink fruit) is by the fantastic Maira Gall.

Hi Summer- that’s awesome! I’m still fairly new here, but I love it so far. I’m looking forward to browsing your site as well – glad you found me! 🙂
Hello Taylor! Your recipes are great and they look delicious. I can’t wait to try some of them out. Just a quick comment on your “Mexican dishes”. I do not believe your version of “Mexican rice” to be an accurate depiction of what Mexican rice is. I understand that you gave it a different approach but unless you have knowledge of this culturally rich dish, I don’t believe you should call it Mexican. Being Mexican-American, I have cooked and eaten rice for the entirety of my life so far and do not find your rendition of the rice I’ve eaten all of my life to be even similar. However, I completely respect your attempt to imitate it and admire your talents. If you do happen to be Mexican or have historic knowledge of such dishes, I apologize for my comment. Good luck on your blog!
Hi Merare, thanks for pointing that out – I knew it was not authentic and should have named it ‘Mexican-inspired’. It was one of the first dishes that I posted on this blog and I wasn’t as careful with naming as I should have been. I apologize if it offended you – I did not mean to in any way and will change the name of the post. Thank you for the kind words about my blog and I hope you have a nice day.
